Tokyo 3D Print

Props and DIY 3D Printing

This was my first really "big" project after I bought my 3D printers.

This is a 1:9500 scale model of my favorite city, Tokyo, Japan.

This project took me well over 3 months to finally get to a point where I could call it complete. Sourcing the 3D model was the first step, which was arguably the hardest part. Thankfully I was super lucky and found a company that was contracted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to 3D model the entire city. So thank you to Project Plateau for making the (very well done) 3D models free and available online.

After 20 days of nonstop printing, 10 spools of filament, and maybe 7 failed prints, I was finally able to begin assembling the frame. After a lot of trial and error, I was able to get all the pieces assembled and lined up perfectly.
